The Musée François Pompon in Saulieu inaugurates two new exhibition spaces with the presentation of “Nord Licht et Lumière Australe”, an exhibition by the painter Verena von Lichtenberg. This encounter between two bodies of work invites visitors to discover contrasting interpretations of light, between northern atmospheres and southern radiance. Verena von Lichtenberg is received by Anne-Catherine Loisier, Senator of the Côte-d’Or and Mayor of Saulieu.

Presented in the museum’s new rooms, the exhibition brings together the series “Nord Licht” and “Lumière Australe” in dialogue. The works explore the variations of light through colour, material, and depth. On one side, “Nord Licht” evokes diffuse light, transparencies, and delicate nuances inspired by northern landscapes; on the other, “Lumière Australe” unfolds a warmer and more luminous palette, driven by the intensity of colour and the energy of southern light. This artistic confrontation allows for the exploration of two complementary sensibilities and offers a reflection on how light shapes our perception of the world. The exhibition was hosted at the Musée François Pompon in Saulieu with the support of Anne-Catherine Loisier, Senator of the Côte-d’Or and Mayor of Saulieu.
