Verena von Lichtenberg, a recognized painter, invites us for the duration of a summer exhibition at the Casino des Atlantes on the seafront promenade of Les Sables-d’Olonne, on an extraordinary journey into an incredibly evocative universe that magnifies the elegance and power of one of nature’s greatest spectacles: the horizon.

This major summer event forms part of a large exhibition comprising 240 paintings, presented simultaneously in casinos and private venues in the cities of Roscoff, Saint-Malo, La Rochelle, Biarritz, and Pornichet.

The daughter of an architect and born in Strasbourg, Verena von Lichtenberg began drawing at a very young age. She won several drawing and painting competitions and was deeply influenced by architects and artists such as Mies van der Rohe, Otto Wagner, Hundertwasser, Kandinsky, Miró, and Dalí.

She attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Darmstadt and continued to develop her artistic research. Her professional career in Darmstadt and at the École Supérieure des Travaux Publics in Paris brought her into contact with renowned architects and urban planners such as Frank Owen Gehry, Norman Foster, Jean Nouvel, Rem Koolhaas, and Roland Castro before she devoted herself entirely to her passion: painting.
